On Friday, Feb. 26, Daniel Jones, 38, of Charlemont, was arraigned in Northwestern District Court on the charge of armed and masked robbery, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said.

The charge stems from a robbery at People’s United Bank on King Street in Northampton on Thursday, Feb. 25.

On that day, at around 11:20 a.m., Jones allegedly demanded money from a People's United Bank teller and implied that he had a gun, the DA said,

About an hour after the theft, Jones was arrested by Massachusetts State Police outside of a Heath Stage Road residence in Charlemont.

Jones is being held without the right to bail pending a Wednesday, March 3, dangerousness hearing.
